C'est Moi

Tue Jun 6, 2006, 12:29 PM
I am a Fine Arts student at Bishop's University in Quebec, Canada, also majoring in Classical Studies. Photography is my favourite form of creation, although I also draw, paint, sculpt.. you name it.

My subjects are usually portraits, nature, and still life. I love messing with perspective to create different interpretations to images of everyday things.

Art school has also encouraged me to practice in painting, drawing, and sculpture. In all, I'm pretty much a well-rounded (yet very tempermental) artist.

New camera, just in time for Spring

Tue May 9, 2006, 7:35 PM
Since the unfortunate tragedy of breaking my amazing Canon Powershot I haven't had any new work to be proud of.. but finally after working on it for two months, I've finished a drawing of an '06 Mitsubishi Eclipse using watercolor pencil.

And only a short week ago I recieved my new HP Photosmart R818 camera. It's not as tiny or fancy as the Cybershot but it's still a pretty good camera. I've barely touched all of the different options and settings.

As I found out, the super-macro mode is great. Check out my pretty flower shots "Delicate" and "Delicate Innocence". I went to the Hopyard on Sunday and decided to take some shots before my friend showed up and it turned out that these were better than the actual landscape/scenery photos I took. Then of course the battery on my camera decided to die on me so I had to switch over to my disposible.. those are currently being developed.

Winter Hopyard Pics

Wed Dec 7, 2005, 11:20 AM
I went to Devil's Hopyard yesterday to take some pics. There was kinda-fresh snow and it was really sunny so I was hoping to get great pics. I was a little diasappointed that I didnt get anything awesome like I did in early fall but thats because a) I was with a friend and b) I didnt stay too long because my fingers and toes were freezing!

I put the "vivid blue" setting on my camera at one point hoping for white white snow and blue blue sky but the pics came out with blue snow and blue blue sky... :( Nothing a little digital editing won't fix but I would have rather seen the natural grey and brown tones in the photos.. Oh well I can always try again another time.

Im going up to Canada this weekend and there is much snow there, hopefully I will have time to go for a drive and take some pics.

Meh

I have no inspiration lately. I was up in Canada last weekend and there was pretty snow but no photo oppurtunities. Perhaps if I had driven up myself I would have gone for a drive.. its really pretty up there with the snow on the trees.

Anyway I went to Mohegan Sun and took a few pics, nothing special. Im really proud of the pic I posted a week ago of my friend's kitten, Le Petit Chat, but Im saddened that I didnt get much of a response on it. Well if you get the chance please take a look at it just to make me feel special.

There has been very much moodiness lately. Maybe something creative will come from it. Probably not. Lately I just want to sit in bed and do nothing but who knows maybe we'll see a masterpiece if I get more depressed than I am. And... *gasp*... maybe I'll start writing again!

Someone hit me. Better yet, someone love me..

Photo shoot

Today I spent some time at Devils Hopyard to take pictures of the beautiful early-fall colors. I came back home with a full memory card and lots of pretty pictures. I posted my favourites here and will probably put a few more up when I get some spare time. I hope you enjoy them and if you want to look at the rest of them go to my photo album here:
